Booking a skipper is ideal for those who do not have formal sailing qualifications, or those who simply wish to gain more experience out on the water and learn from a professional. Skippers can also advise you on which ports to visit, where to eat, and the best places to swim.

The skipper is there to ensure you see the best the area has to offer. You, your friends and family can get involved as much or as little as you like – it is a great activity holiday for all the family.

How does skippered charter work?

It’s very easy… We charter a sailing yacht with a skipper who effectively drives the boat for you wherever you’d like to sail! You, your friends and family can get involved as much or as little as you like – it is a great activity holiday for all the family.

If sipping a G&T while sunbathing is more your thing, then you can leave it totally up to the skipper to do all the work. Simply sit back and enjoy…

Take your time meandering from port to port, stopping for a lazy lunch and swim in beautiful bays along the way, before making the most of the afternoon breeze and sailing to your evening destination.

Choosing Your Yacht

Being a part of Sailing Holidays Ltd comes with great responsibility in assuring that the yachts and people we use are of extremely good quality. 

We always recommend you opt for the newest model of yacht available as this minimises any visible wear and tear. We do however still offer slightly older models, in order to cater for all groups and budgets, and ensure we keep sailing in the Mediterranean an affordable luxury.

Sailing with us you have the confidence of knowing that the yacht and people are of the best standard around, and that you have us here in the UK as well as the local base team, whenever you need any assistance.

Where can I sail?

Within the five countries and between the 30 bases, we have 14 different sailing areas available, each with their own unique ability to create a memorable sailing holiday. Savour the sights and sounds of Croatia, discover Greece with the family or embrace yourself for total cultural immersion in Italy.
